After a thorough selection process where over 120 startups applied, the 19 finalists of FINNOSUMMIT Challenge that will be pitching their businesses in front of the over 3,000 attendees of FINNOSUMMIT in Mexico have been selected!
FINNOSUMMIT Challenge is a first-class competition created to promote technology-based entrepreneurship in the region and to propel and drive the finalist startups to their next level of development.
This year the competition has two categories that have been chosen according to two of the greatest tech trends in Latin America: Insurtech and Fintech for Inclusion. There is an unquestionable necessity for financial inclusion in Latin America, with half of the population lacking access to formal financial services, and Fintech & Insurtech represent a genuine opportunity for more competitive economies and more inclusive societies. An opportunity that has led to an increasing number of Fintech & Insurtech startups focusing on leading the change in these industries.
The competition final will take place at FINNOSUMMIT in Mexico 2019, held next September the 10th to 13th. It is at this conference, the most collaborative in Fintech and Insurtech across LatAm, that attendees will have the opportunity to discover the region’s most innovative Insurtech and Fintech for Inclusion startups.
The startups that will be pitching their businesses in front of the over 3,000 attendees of FINNOSUMMIT, were selected among 120 applications from companies coming mainly from Mexico, Brazil, and Chile, which are 3 of the largest Fintech ecosystems in LatAm according to the latest Fintech Radars published by Finnovista.
Prizes: mentoring, acceleration and exposure
The 19 finalists will be competing to be recognized the most innovative Insurtech and Fintech for Inclusion startup in Latin America and to receive several awards, such as specialized mentoring, direct invitation to the Selection Days of leading acceleration and scale programs from Startupbootcamp, access to funding and partnerships with the most relevant players in the financial services and insurance industries and much more.
