For over a decade, that place has been the FINNOSUMMIT Challenge program. Openpay, now part of BBVA, and Arcus, now part of Mastercard, walked through these doors\u2014startups that arrived to deliver a five-minute pitch on the FINNOSUMMIT stage and left with something no investment fund can buy overnight: credibility.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, that question was asked by over 80 Fintech startups from 12 countries across Latin America and the United States\u2014Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay, and more\u2014competing for a spot on The Beacon stage. After an internal evaluation process, we already have our first confirmed finalists, and today, we introduce them to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What stands out the most when reviewing their business models is not the technology, although there are surprises there too, but rather who they are speaking to: from Tier 1 banks and corporates that need to modernize decades-old untouched processes, to individuals and small businesses that no traditional credit bureau knew how to evaluate. This is the best evidence that financial innovation in the region is no longer moving in just one direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GenAI &amp; Autonomous Finance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance that decides on its own is already here. This category brings together founders building upon GenAI and LLMs something that just a few years ago sounded like science fiction: systems capable of making complex financial decisions regarding credit, risk, and investment with little to no human intervention. Financial copilots, autonomous anti-fraud engines, and the automation of origination and reporting. The question its finalists answer is both simple and uncomfortable: how much of what a human analyst does today actually needs to be done by one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tr\u00e9bol<\/strong> (Mexico, 2022) develops documentary artificial intelligence to accelerate banking and credit onboarding. Its technology classifies, validates, and extracts data from financial and legal files\u2014processes that previously took back-office analysts days, reducing them to minutes. It already operates in production with regulated banks such as Banco Base, Actinver, and Lulo Bank, and holds an ISO 27001 certification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reeval\u00faa<\/strong> (Peru, 2021) is a financial health platform powered by generative AI that operates entirely via WhatsApp. Through Victoria, its conversational agent, it diagnoses people&#8217;s credit situations, designs personalized plans to improve their score or get out of debt, and connects them with more than 40 allied financial institutions. It already has over 80,000 active users in Peru and plans to expand to Mexico, Colombia, and Chile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tpaga<\/strong> (Colombia, 2017) builds artificial intelligence agents capable of executing financial operations: payments, money transfers, and balance inquiries through a simple WhatsApp conversation, without the need for apps. With over a million active users and five years of proprietary financial infrastructure, it works with over 25 corporates and financial institutions, including Nu, Claro, and Banco Serfinanza.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kosmos y Fincracks<\/strong> (Mexico, 2016) allows financial institutions to build and operate credit processes just by talking to an AI: you describe the product you need, and the artificial intelligence builds screens, decision rules, and regulatory integrations in days, not months. Today, it processes over 450,000 monthly applications for more than 30 financial institutions in Mexico, including Tier 1 banks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DisruptHer: Women&#8217;s Inclusive Finance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Advancing Women Through Financial Innovation. This category, developed together with DisruptHer, starts from a question the financial industry has been evading for too long: what happens when a financial product is designed with women in mind first, rather than as a diversity checkbox to be ticked later? Competing here are founders and executive teams leading solutions for financial inclusion, female entrepreneurship, financial wellness, and access to capital for women across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Zumma<\/strong> (Mexico, 2022, founded and led by women) automates the invoicing and recovery of corporate expenses through an API that integrates with financial institutions. With its technology, companies go from invoicing nearly 50% of their deductible expenses to over 95%. Today, it works with institutions like Clara, Konf\u00edo, Jeeves, and Broxel, serving more than 3,000 companies in Mexico.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VADI<\/strong> (Mexico, 2021), founded by Natalia Cueto, builds a financial orchestration ecosystem to democratize access to private investment in Latin America through tokenized assets. Its platform combines artificial intelligence to evaluate investors&#8217; risk profiles with fractional investment instruments, seeking to close the private capital access gap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>INCLUIRTEC<\/strong> (Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and Honduras, 2021), a B2B AgriFintech led by women, provides banks, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions with the digital infrastructure to originate and evaluate credit for small rural producers, with a particular focus on rural women. It already works with over 18 financial institutions and has helped originate over $160 million in rural credit portfolios.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Real Economy &amp; Embedded Finance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance that truly moves the economy. If there is one category that summarizes where the next decade of Fintech in the region is heading, this is it. Its finalists aren&#8217;t building independent banks or payment apps: they are building the invisible pipelines that allow retail, logistics, healthcare, or agritech platforms to offer credit, insurance, or payments without the end-user ever noticing the difference. Supply chain financing, cargo insurance, embedded working capital, cross-border trade finance. Fintechs are becoming the infrastructure of all industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Menta<\/strong> (Mexico, Argentina, and Chile, 2021) provides the technological infrastructure for banks, Fintechs, and companies with merchant networks to launch their own branded payment collection solutions in weeks, not years. It holds a CNBV license, PCI certification, and works with institutions like Banorte, Broxel, Kushki, and Prosa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sumeria<\/strong> (Uruguay, 2025) turns a merchant&#8217;s daily sales\u2014captured from their point of sale, digital wallets, and payment gateways\u2014into a real-time credit profile that banks and acquirers use to finance SMEs they previously couldn&#8217;t evaluate. In four months, it went from zero to 30,000 active merchants across Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay, and already operates with Mastercard, Scanntech, and Akua.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>KredFeed<\/strong> (Mexico) specializes in digital factoring for manufacturing SMEs that are part of nearshoring value chains, facilitating their access to working capital through agile, operation-data-driven processes. It closed a seed round in 2025 for $1.5 million backed by Techstars, CARABELA, 2045 Ventures, AngelHub VC, and The Pitch Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten startups, three distinct visions of where money is heading in Latin America\u2014and this is just the first group.
