This year’s edition of FINNOSUMMIT, the most important Fintech event in latin America, took place on September the 12th and 13th at the Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral in Mexico City. Over 1500 investors, entrepreneurs, financial institutions representatives, consultants and high impact executives from 15 different countries attended the conference.
This keynote from Rebecca Rathbun (Managing Director of the Americas, MWR Infosecurity) addresses one of the biggest concerns for the Fintech industry, cybersecurity in financial services. Specifically, Rebecca highlights the opportunities arising within the sector thanks to technology, such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain or Open Banking, opportunities that, in her opinion, pose significant risks such as identity fraud or fraudulent access to users’ data.
In this respect, the speaker concluded that it is essential for Fintechs and banks to keep up with cybersecurity, or else they will be losing a huge database of customers that are looking for the perfect balance between safety and convenience.
