Back in 2013, when the term “Fintech” still sounded like science fiction in Latin America, FINNOSUMMIT opened the doors to its very first edition with a clear mission: to become the meeting point for the region’s emerging Fintech ecosystem. And we truly made it happen.
At the time, financial technology entrepreneurs were just beginning to pursue their dreams—much like we were at Finnovista—of transforming finance across Latin America. Meanwhile, the traditional financial industry was starting to open its mindset to new technological solutions and innovations that could help solve challenges they couldn’t tackle alone.
It feels like yesterday when we watched the very first startup pitches on a small stage, opening doors for entrepreneurs through the FINNOSUMMIT Challenge. Yet this September marks 10 editions of FINNOSUMMIT since we decided to bet on a shared dream: to transform finance, create a better world, and become the reference meeting point for the Fintech ecosystem in Latin America.
Over the years, FINNOSUMMIT has become home to a strong and loyal Fintech community, the true protagonist of this journey. Together, we turned what was once pure disruption into the critical financial infrastructure that now powers the region. Entrepreneurs and teams built the technology and solutions; banks and financial institutions began collaborating with Fintech startups—often co-creating them from within—and doors opened to financial innovation that delivers better products and services to Latin American consumers. For the past decade, FINNOSUMMIT has been the pioneering event of the ecosystem, the go-to gathering in Latin America where the financial services innovation community comes together to unlock opportunities for industry transformation.
